Delete your CircleUp account
You can delete your account and its data at any time, in either of two ways.
1. In the extension
- Click the CircleUp bubble on any web page to open it.
- Open Settings (the gear icon).
- Choose Delete my account, then confirm.
Deletion happens immediately, and you're signed out on every device.
2. By email
If you can't use the extension (for example, you've already uninstalled it), email privacy@getcircleup.app from the email address of your CircleUp account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm when it's done.
What deletion removes
- Your account: your Google account ID, email address, name, profile photo address and invite code.
- Your place in other people's circles: you disappear from your contacts' circles straight away.
- All your messages, both the ones you sent and the ones you received.
- All screenshots you sent or received, from CircleUp's file storage.
- Your sign-in sessions on every device, which signs you out everywhere.
If you're in a call when you delete your account, the call ends and the other person is told why.
Deletion can't be undone. If you sign in again later with the same Google account, CircleUp creates a new, empty account.
What remains
CircleUp's server logs may still contain your account's random ID in technical entries (connections, calls and errors) until they're rotated and overwritten. They don't contain your name, email address, messages or screenshots. Uninstalling the extension removes the sign-in tokens and preferences it kept in your browser.
